The Fifth Chakra communicates our creativity and unique voice to the world. Located near the thyroid gland, the Visuddha symbolizes our ability to speak eloquently with integrity, creativity, wit, and most importantly truth. The throat chakra is blue in color and associated with the element of ether (space), resonating to the musical note G. The throat chakra governs self-expression of our full potential. Feelings and emotions are transformed into expressions of laughter and sorrow. The throat chakra is capable of inspiring our imagination to create new ideas, resulting in the power of conscious creation, and the ability to transform our reality. We affirm, "I speak", stating our needs and expressing our feelings. The ability to speak your truth, having choices and making knowledgeable decisions is the function of this chakra. If we are blocked in this area we are unable to express our true feelings and beliefs, we have dammed up communication of our ideas and feelings. It becomes difficult to speak up for ourselves when asking to get our needs met. Some of us may act stubborn, display a weak sense of humor, or have difficulties finding the right career and take themselves too seriously. We diminish the power of the Visuddha when we are untruthful, gossip or deny our creativity. We are fearful of being judged and rejected. We energize our Heart chakra when we clearly state our needs, heartfelt desires and communicate are feelings. We see that we have choices in life and we surrender our personal will over to that of Divine will. We begin to find the balance of expression between silence and speech. Knowing how to listen to our "inner voice" and trust our intuition. When balanced, we are able to express the totality of our beingness and Divine essence. Actions motivated by our personal will that trusts the Divine Authority create the best outcomes for all; this also brings harmonic balance to speech and our voice of will Strengths and Attributes: faith, self-knowledge, decisiveness, truth, loyalty, will, inner truth, responsibility and peace.
